Rhetorical Situation
logos ethos pathos are 3 important ways of appealing to an audience
but the entirety of the rhetorical situation needs to be looked at
to make us better able to analyze rhetoric and create it ourselves:
hand out
sender (ethos)
receiver (audience...values, p.o.v., values)
message (medium ... vehicle ... use of logos and other appeals in actual communication itself)
purpose (argument, main thesis)
situation/context/exigence (why is this rhetoric being generated?)
then look at student lit narrs
hw: final draft of lit narr 3-4 pp due in class fri (hard copy and on blog)
